TeAraroa Part Two- The Film
Trying to capture this whole journey on video was difficult. For example, if I wanted to film me crossing a stream, I had to set up the camera, cross the stream, recross the stream to get the camera, then cross it a third time to continue down the trail. Usually by that time my feet had gone numb from the cold water. If I wanted to film climbing over a log, same thing- I would be climbing over that log three times. Take this strategy over a 3000 Km hike and I did a lot of things three times. This added to the difficulty of the trail. But, filming also gave me something to focus on when it got hard. Overall, I have an insane amount of hours of film. Of course I couldn't capture everything. All the funny things happened when the camera was off. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I want to try and recreate this journey. Will see what happens.
Now its on to more important things- babies. My sister and sister-in-law are both having a baby within the next couple of weeks. I wanted to find some baby clothing that said " My aunt hiked the TeAraroa Trail and I"ll I got was this one-sy" but that market doesn't exist yet.
