Journal Entry

Hola Hikers and Friends:

Boots here writing from beautiful Green Valley California Casa de Luna 500-miles north of the Mexico border.

Several weeks ago I left my home in Colorado traveling west to the Southern Terminus of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail at the Mexico Border On the way I visited several destinations traveling through south west Colorado, Arizona, and into California. I visited the Four Corners and laid in 4-states all at the same time imagine that. Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. I enjoyed Navajo Fry Bread and great conversation with the locals and travelers. With my arms open and looking into the sky I had a huge smile. Later I arrived at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for an evening adventure into the canyon. More spectacular views and an extraordinary little hike. I did attempt to photograph the bats flying over head as I hiked out in the dark.

Soon I arrived at Lake Morena for the kick off and hiked my first 20 miles of PCT adventure. Spectacular it was. I felt the energy from the desert floor traveling into my Boots, up my legs and into my arms. A later conclusion was the desert floor heat was transferred upward and reason for the sensation. It was all good.

I departed Lake Morena one of the last to leave and traveled by car 500 miles north to Green Valley California Casa de Luna. Now 14 ZERO days later my computer work is don and I will shortly depart on a southbound PCT trek back to Lake Morena. Once there I'll hitch back up to Green Valley and proceed northward toward Canada???? Anything can happen on the PCT! It's all good!
