Day 165 - USA!

Day 165 - USA!

I forced myself to sleep until 7 and it was a boring morning killing time until my flight. I caught the bus back to the airport and had a while to kill in the airport as well. The flight home is about 24 hours total which is the shortest of my 4 flights to/from Australia. I could only pray for good movies on the 14 hour flight to San Francisco and I lucked out. 4 pretty watchable movies made the flight a lot easier. 14 hours to San Fran. A 2.5 hour layover, 4 hour flight to Chicago, 1.5 hour layover and then 1.5 hour flight to Rochester. Good to be back home and see my parents.

This was my first big international trip and a great 6 months. I learned that I: hate hostels, I'm not all that tolerant of other cultures, high maintenance when it comes to food, low maintenance when it comes to pretty much everything else, love to see a country by foot, if I'm not on foot then I like to have a car, really enjoyed meeting the locals, enjoyed meeting the foreigners when on a trail, like a good exchange rate and hate a bad one, and last but not least miss the good old USA. I imagine this won't be my last international trip. If they build a cool trail somewhere I have to walk it. I can't explain it, but I see a long trail on a map and feel the pull.
