Florida trail conditioning hikes

I have been out and about on the Florida trail hiking with brother paul ( chessman).

We walked thru the Florida everglades for 5 days and got quite wet from swamp.

Then we walked a few days in Ocala national forest near Orlando. And then a week in

NW Florida near Crestview staying at the wonderful trail angels Bob and Nancy. They made us feel most welcomed

and cooked up the best meals a hiker would die for.

Their man cave was very accommodating . Thank you Bob and nancy . I made plans to thru-hike the pct again in 2017 starting 3/15 at campo.

I will not have a r/v support driver this year like I did in 2016. Both my wife linda and brother paul are busy with other things .

My hike strategy will change

to mailed resupply boxes and buy as I go. And a

heavier carry of food. My gear will not change much other than a extra 3 Oz

Base layer top and 5 Oz base layer bottoms and a 4 oz sleeping bag liner for the earlier start date. These

Three items will be dumped at Acton Koa after the first month and the warmer weather begins. I will still have my rv

In California stored at the Koa there for 2 months and then move it north to Lone pine to storage while I walk

Through the sierras. Hopefully this rv movement will not be a troublesome bother.
