Ashland Update
It seems like my brother's ran into some (technical?) difficulties getting the journal entries I've mailed him online. They exist, they're near a computer. My pictures are on a computer too now, as my parent's brought up a lap top and I uploaded them from the SD cards. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get them from the laptop to the internet when I'm trying to eat a lot of food, prepare resupply packages, arrange rendezvous with friends near and far as well as plan for the rest of my life. Pretty much kidding on that last topic, more like write down the random thoughts, plans, ideas, etc. in my head and amuse myself with them and other assorted fantastical sci-fi novels (in my head). Always, in my head. The poetry is grand too. e.e. cummings, Rumi, Snyder, now Jeffers too and short stories by Annie Proulx. I am loathe to tear out pages, but I need to stop carrying so many books around. Oops.
We're going to Othello tonight and saw Clay Cart yesterday afternoon. Wonderful performance though there was quite a bit of what my mom calls "Laurel and Hardy" slapstick. Lots of rather pertinent commentary on social status v. character and love (of a courtesan).
I've got lots more to say, but I think I'll just stop right here. Hiking keeps getting better each and every day, and I'm learning to take it at a slightly slower pace. I still do the 30 mile days occasionally, but I also do the 20 mile days too, stopping at a nice camp site or taking a nap or reading a book at lunch, etc. etc. If you've got wonderments about whats going on in a specific detailed sort of way, send me an email and I'll write back to explain exactly.
