FOOD!

So i just wanted to do an update. First thing, my hunger is that of a Wolverine..almost. Since I got over the Ghardia my brain was like, "he's serious about this hike, it's time to bulk up!" I have literally been craving huge ammounts of meat and vegetables mainly, not much carbs. And it's been interesting. Every night for the past month has been.. monday:huge stuffed pizza, tuesday:chicken tariyaki with extra meat, Wednesday: mongolian beef, extra beef, Thursday: Salmon lots of spinach and carrots....im literally bodybuilding, but without going to the gym! I'm not sure how much weight i've gained but i'm curious. Anyway, so i've recently found out my feathered friends 20 degree bag BARELY fits into my zpacks blast 30 pack, and takes up like half the space, does anyone know if this is expected to change, ie does the down loose alot of loft? Basically i'm worried that i need to buy a smaller, lighter bag, anyone else have the same problem? Training has been good, did 2 nights out last week in the Elwha valley, it was a good reminder how hard backpacking really is. It was really nice though, a huge dam was removed there recently after over 100 yrs and already there have been salmon returning upstream, very cool to see things change for the good in one of the most special places in the area to me. It's time now for me to incerse my training even more, which im excited for. Lastly, I'm carpooling down to campo from seattle, expecting to start prob at the KO. If anyone is interested in sharing the cost inquiries are welcom, the plan is to enjoy the ride down, taking hwy 101 for a ways and stopping at the redwoods. Good luck training and prepping to all hikers!!
