Thumper's Great Adventure Or Dealing with OCD (3rd Attempt)
I’m going to attempt to hike the 2668 mile Pacific Crest Trail again this year. Hopefully snow will not be the factor that it was in 2010 and 2013. Our travel begins on April 3rd where BabySteps will drop Raelyn and I at the border monument. I'm of the understanding that some 9 other hikers begin that day including one of my heros. From there the hike is all northbound (NOBO) until Manning Park, BC or until I can’t walk any further. I’ll be pleased to make Oregon, ecstatic to arrive in Washington and and feel like a super-hero if I make it to Canada.
So who are us? Raelyn and I have an unofficial commitment to stay together as a form of family apeasement. She is from NH and an accomplished hiker. The PCT will give her trail number 2 of her triple crown goal. She's a Charter School Teacher from Arkansas and recently moved back to NH. Plans on returning to school in an effort to become a Physician’s Assistant (PA). Has previously thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. Hopefully the old man can keep up with the youngster. I'm a retiree after a 38 year career in the aviation arena. BabySteps and I have 2 adult children, 6 grandchildren, a Doberman Pincher, Miniture Schnauzer ands lots of tropical fish. I enjoy my family and friends, fast cars, boats, history, and hiking. Did I mention I really enjoy my family and friends, and hiking, yes hiking!
And of course BabySteps, is my trail angel extraordinaire! She is coordinating our logistics. If you wish to visit or even schlep a resupply box please coordinate with her at email@example.com

Thumper's Great Adventure Or Dealing With OCD (3rd Attempt)
The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is the jewel in the crown of America's scenic trails, spanning 2,668 miles from Mexico to Canada through three western states. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range. The trail also passes through historic mining sites and evidence of humans endless quest for natural resources. Thousands of hikers and equestrians enjoy this national treasure each year. Some only travel a few miles, while others complete every mile in a single season! (Credit USFS http://www.fs.fed.us/pct/)
