Zoner's HSHST Guidebook & Supplementary Maps

What is the Hot Springs Trail??

The Hot Springs Trail (HST) is a brand new long trail pioneered by veteran thruhiker Aria Zoner. It stretches 2,390 miles from Santa Barbara, CA to Priest Falls near the Idaho-Canada border. On the way it hits an amazing 80+ hot spring complexes.

The HST is broken down into four sections. I plan to hike one of these four sections called the High Sierra Hot Springs Trail (HSHST). This section travels 268-miles from Kernville, CA to Reds Meadows (near Mammoth, CA). Along the way, it passes through Golden Trout Wilderness, Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, John Muir Wilderness, Ansel Adam Wilderness, and many National Forests. The HSHST hits an amazing 6 wild hot spring complexes within the Sierra Nevada mountains.

In 2015, Aria Zoner released a series of excellent guidebooks for all four HST sections. He is the designer and only person to thru-hike each of the four HST sections.

For more information, check out Zoner's website: www.wholefoodhiker.com

Apparently, if I complete the HSHST trail, I will be only the second person, after Zoner, to thruhike one of the four HST sections. So this is a brand new trail, with little traffic, and lots of hot springs!

Let the thru-soak begin!
