Gear list
Pacific Crest Trail Map
Will not be finalized until within six months of actually starting to walk.
So don't freak if the weights are heavy since I'm currently using the feature to create and assess pack list's weight. It'll be tweaked as "new to me" equipment hits my radar and I find/test out equipment and learn/find better, lighter, or what have you items. In other words, it's an ever-evolving list.
I am NOT an UL hiker - there are creature comforts I will not give up that will forever put me smack daub in the realm of the lightweight backpacker herd. Like an insulated air mat. And a bug proof shelter truly "1 person" sized. And a water filter. And secure food. Egads! It's High Maintenance fetch!! AND I'm a singleton hikeer so there's no one to split the burden with.
The exercise is to develop a six day base weight (-) food & water of 15 lbs. (or less). I don't want a skin-out total over 35 lbs when loaded with six days food @ maximum of 2#/day and maximum carrying capacity of 8# H2O. 20 + 15 = 35! Pretty simple, right?
Right?
