Day off in Inverness
Great day off--finally we can shop without having to worry about carrying our souvenirs and gifts on our back. The Invernss Museum was better than the one in Edinburgh--it was packed with info on ancient Scotland up to the present. We ate at a Jamaican restaurant (Kool Runnings) and had a pint at The Hootananny pub (I didn't know that was a Scottish word). It was good to get the pack off the back and let the feet rest--the miles of hiking on hardened surfaces was tougher than on ordinary single track trails. We're taking a train back to London tomorrow, then fly back to the US.
