Yard Flower that has survived

Flurry of Activity

Now comes the time of extreme activity getting back into everyday life at home--putting stuff away, refurbishing, making plans to buy newer (and more lightweight) stuff, working in my sorely neglected yard weeding and putting in irrigation, catching up on emails, cleaning out my email inbox (nasty task).

One big surprise--when I eagerly weighed myself to see how much I had lost after 2 months of backpacking--it was barely 1 1/2 pounds!! I had lost about an inch in the hips, but only miniscule amounts everywhere else. A lot of muscle, I guess. Sure don't lose weight like I used to on the trail. Kind of disappointing.I'm still three pounds above my supposed "ideal" weight range--so that makes me an overweight long distance hiker.

It's good to be back. I will post pictures to accompany the journal in a few days.
