I can not believe the kind things people will do for hikers. Around mid-morning, I saw 2 men offering rides to hikers; asked if they were locals; no, they lived in Sacramento and were going home today.

I asked if they could help me get to some sort of public transportation. At noon, I left with them and they took me all the way to the Amtrak station in Sacramento. I bought the last available ticket to Seattle; finally got on the train at 1 am; and am heading home.

My feet are a mess but at least there are currently no infections; just loose floppy blistered skin all over both of my little toes.

Thank you so much to all of the people that helped me along on this part of my trek. My plan was for 500 miles; as usual, I failed and only completed 300 or so but the summer is not finished.
