Blisters are getting better
By now some may have written my CDT hike as finished.
Not so!
The blisters are healing nicely. I am now working to insure their return is unlikely. Witch hazel sponging of each foot entirely and tincture of benzoin applications to the blister sites. This should toughen the skin on the feet.
Plans are to fly to Santa Fe with Rachel and then shuttle to Ghost Ranch. Hike the 90 miles to Chama, where Rachel will return to Maine. I will continue the hike towards to Canada.
Our plan is to restart my hike slowly and allow better acclimation of the body. The weather should be cooler then at the border in Columbus.
The pic below shows the dramatic improvement of the left foot's blister.
Many thanks to Olive and Abbe in Silver City and Keith and Mary in Deming. Without your support this trip would be much more difficult.
