Decision made!
After reaching the conclusion that life is just too short, I decided to take early retirement in December 2016, so I could go on another adventure. I thru-hiked the AT in 2011, and had an amazing time. My plan is to start the Pacific Crest Trail in 2017, towards the end of April.Now for my friends in the UK who might read this journal. The PCT runs up the western seaboard of the USA. It starts at the Mexican border and ends a few miles into Canada. It is approximately 2650 miles, passing through only 3 states, California, Oregon and Washington.
I have plenty of time to plan and organise my gear, and will update this journal as things come together. It turns out planning for this walk is far more involved than the AT.
