No surgery, the bone is healing

I was pretty nervous about my doctor's appointment today. I'm hoping I don't need surgery to fix my broken foot. I bring along the disc the hospital gave me with the x-rays and CT scan pictures. My doctor takes more x-rays today then comes back with the good news. My bone is healing nicely and he doesn't see a need for surgery. The new x-rays are kind of amazing, the displacement of the bone at the fracture has lessened. It is his opinion that the trauma on the 3rd metatarsal is a stress fracture that occurred about 6 weeks ago. That would coincide with the foot pain I was feeling just outside of Big Bear. I am ecstatic at the news. 6 more weeks in the boot and I should be good to go!
