Day 28. Rain!

Day 28. Rain! Woke up early, 5:30. Coffee & a cookie for brecky. Shower then prep for a trip 3 miles up the hwy to visit Rim Rock Ranch to seek lodging until Kevin gets here. I try hitching then start walking & sticking a thumb out at passing cars. In short order a car stops. It's an older couple who say I am the 3rd hiker they have picked up in recent days. His name is Rouldoff & she has a beautiful name which I have unfortunately forgotten. They drop me off in front of the Rim Rock Ranch. I thank them & wish them safe travels. I was successful in arranging a place to stay thru Aug 4 with the exception of this coming Saturday. I 'll figure that out later. The woman who helped me was also Italian with ancestors from Sicily! I then walked a quarter mile to Old Station Fill Up where our resupply boxes were sent to check them out. I'll pick the boxes up after I move locations, or maybe after my lapse in a place to stay. I decided to try & walk the 3 miles back to the rv park as a test for my feet. I could always stick a thumb out if they hurt too much. As I begin walking I felt a few drops of rain. By the time I get back it is drizzling lightly. Back in the room now and it's raining lightly. There are puddles in the parking area by the time it's over a short time later. Watching some local news & just saw a story about 2 brothers in Taylorsville (this town was evacuated) who have stayed behind to protect their property from the dixie fire. Just hanging out in the room tonight watching some olympics.
