Moving day

Day 44, Friday August 12th

Up at 6. Discover breakfast doesn't start here til 7, bummer so back to the
room to finish packing. Run down to brecky and grab a muffin for later.
We're off and walking the mile to the bus stop. We walk a little over half
way then catch a trolly.
Waiting for the bus in the von's parking lot. Kevin runs into carl's
junior for a burrito and a chicken sandwich. I run in to use the bathroom.
The bus is a little late, we board and are on our way to Walker. It's a
beautiful ride.
The stop is about a mile up the road from the motel so we have to walk back
along 395.
Pat, the owners mother checks us in and even though it's really early in
the day has our room ready. We settle in then walk to the burger place
where Kevin gets a shake. Next we walk to the local market. It's really
small but they have sparkling water. Then we walk past the BBQ place,
which is only open on weekends, to look at their menu. We'll come back
later for dinner.
After dinner we sit outside our room and enjoy the evening. The owners dad
stops by to chat. We talk about foot injuries. Then a couple who frequent
the motel stop to chat. He hikes and is curious about our gear. I pull out
my bear can so he can check it out. They live in Lincoln and are headed
home tomorrow.
We sit out till dark to look for meteors. Kevin sees 2, I don't see any.
