Continental Divide Trail Map

Journal Entry

Happy Birthday to my Broham!

Santa Fe was splendid. VD and Majik went out of their way to help me out. I even had wheels for a day!

This morning when VD dropped me off @ GR I had a ton of butterflies. I was excited and anxious but once I got rolling and had more important things to worry about like getting over a few rollers everything felt right. HWY 96 climbed quite a bit but the scenery was epic. A mix of red rock, mesas, and pines. When I rolled into Cuba the legs were cooked, thanks to a decent head wind. I'm 120 miles from Grants. I'm curious to see what the legs will give me but I'm not going to go too hard. I don't want to hurt anything by getting over ambitious. Tonight I used a Patagonia technique and asked if I could camp on a family's property and of course they said YES!

It's nice to be moving again. Between GR, Pagosa and Santa Fe I was in town FAR to many days.
