Campsite in Goat Rocks

Zero in Seattle

Finished the spectacular Goat Rocks. I saw a Mountain goat eating and walking around on a snow field. After Goat rocks the trail got less exciting.

We resupplied at White pass where I saw the familiar crew. I stayed in a hotel that night and they all hiked out a few miles. One day I got rained on for a couple of hours - hard driving rain. My bomber rain gear kept me dry (except for my feet). Luckily there is a cabin on trail right at the end of that rainy day. I saw Slaughterhouse and Amtrak there. There was a family there that had the wood stove cranking. we tried to sleep in the loft but it got too hot and we moved out to the covered front porch. All our stuff got dry inside though.

More uneventful hiking down to Snoqualmie pass. The last 3 miles sorta sucked. My buddies picked me up for a zero in Seattle. I am participating in Sloth and Gluttony as I write this. I saw lots of folks at Snoqualmie: Balance and Yknot, Dewey, TickTock, Slaughter, Juneau, Kit and Phil, Luna, Whistle, Banjo (2), etc. I heard most are staying there today to wait out the rain. It should stop tomorrow morning.

The next section to Stevens Pass is supposed to be difficult but beautiful.
