Gathering Gear
I am keeping busy out there these days. In my office I have a big Eric the Black PCT poster on my wall to keep me level and focused when things get crazy at work. Its definitely nice to have something to look forward to. I am currently in the process of getting all the gear I will need in pieces here and there. I figure if I approach it this way then it wont seem like a big investment all at once. I am a big fan of Osprey and currently have an 65 atmos however, its far to heavy for a thru-hike so the the next time that REI has a 20% sale I am going to pick up a Osprey Exos 58 (2lbs 8oz). I am buying myself a tarptent moment soon as well (28oz). I am not sure what I am going to do about my sleeping bag, its a north face cats meow and it weights nearly 50oz so I might invest in a Western mountaineering summerlite and shave off 30oz. Also, I am liking the idea of a solio classic solar charger. It sounds like santa is going to be busy this year
