NZ

Finally after a crazy few months we have everything packed away and left London for Seattle, where we continued with the crazy hours of prepping for NZ

All too soon we were back in Seattle airport bound for LAX with 4 heavy bags that we had to repack into 5 bags to take to NZ.

13 hours later after not much sleep we arrived In Auckland.

Wow we are really here..

We thought we would have a few hours a day to take in the sights but as usual

It was down to the wire. We had brought a lot of our food with us but we had to swing by Mike to collect some supplies then go shopping for giro & ingredients for our cereal

Mix ( breakfast & dinner) we are going stove-less again.

We dropped our resupply boxes of to our new superstar that will be posting them for us, just before she is off to work. Next morning we drove up into Northland dropping our first 3 packages as we go. Got a bed In Kerikeri, Chimp dropped the car back Saturday morning and we sat looking at our packs ready 2 hours before the bus to Kaitaia. So we decide to try hitching, within 20 min we were in a truck, heading Northwest. From Kaitaia we called our ride to see if he could pick us up early, yes he would be with us within an hour..

Ollie is a really cool interesting guy, lots of stories as we travelled north, he needed the occasional prompt to keep him on the Correct side if the road as he got lost in stories/history of the area. For a moment I thought we would not make it to the top.

Our original plan was to arrive late camp 1km away and hike back to start Sunday morning. But the weather was good and the tides were in our favour.. so......
