quick summary
Decided to hike the CDT around Feb 2/20..will be at the Crazy Cook southern terminus on 4/24..planning 4-4.5 thru hike.Been learning more and more about what this hike is about and I'm excited, nervous, and not quite sure if I'm ready to tackle this thing.
Took a class in map and compass navigation, figured out my gps, got iPhone apps which should help some, resupply will be 22 boxes and they are almost all packed up at this point.
Gear has changed a bit from PCT hike. New bag: Katabatic Gear Helios 55, new sleepbag: Big Agnes Mystic UL15, new pad: Neoair Xlite (regular), new watch: Suunto Vector, new poop trowel: Qiwiz, new phone: iPhone 6, new headgear: OR sun hat, and Zpacks down balaclava.
I'm really pissed that my last 2 hours of writing disappeared but this is the GIST of it.. do you know what GIST means? It's okay, no one does.. It means General Idea for Starting Things...gotta learn something new everyday :)
