a cute little friend I found along the way

now that I am home

It has been pointed out by a few folks that I haven't really wrapped this up. Yep. I am home. I guess. I still feel like a visitor here and wonder when that will pass. Reentry seems to be taking some time. I still have my pack by the front door. It calls to me from time to time.
I knew coming into Snoqualmie Pass that I had done enough to be content. Making it to Steven's Pass was really gravy to the epic adventure and I am glad to have made it to the Dinsmores. What great folks. Hustler and I got a ride from there to a small nearby town to start the reentry process. First order of business was to get some clothes that fit. We hit a thrift store and that was an adventure of its own. After wearing the same clothes for months I finally had some jeans. They fit as well as I could manage. I expect to put on a few pounds so got jeans just a bit big.
I learned quite a lot from this trip. I think the biggest one is a great metaphor for life. You can't lift your pack when standing on the straps. Heaven knows I tested that enough times to prove it.
Enjoy the moment you are in. Yesterday and tomorrow are their own adventures. Worry about the next bit of trail.
Plan your trip but know that it will all change. I think one of the best bits of advice I got at the start was this. "Flexible is too rigid. You must be fluid on the trail." Going with the flow took on a whole new level of importance, particularly during some of the early stream crossings.
I am sure I will have more to say here later on. I will have a pic of one days food later today. Those who know me know I will have lists of things. Items in my pack that I love. Things I dropped off right away. What I would do differently. That one will be long.
Time to wrap this up for now. The weed eater is calling and I must go...ugh.
