Continental Divide Trail Map

The CDT

I am going to go hike again, this time on the Continental Divide Trail. I'll be arriving in East Glacier by train July 13th where I'll meet up with QBall, my already epicly bearded hiking partner. My hopes to grow an epic beard will always be shadowed by his glorious face locks, and although saddened by this to some degree, I will get over it. After all, I'm out there trying to hike not grow a beard, right? Or is it the other way around...

Anyway, everything is planned, drop boxes and map packs all prepared, plane and train ticket bought, etc. The last thing I need to do and something I've been procrastinating for quite some time, is to buy new gloves since my old ones have holes in the right hand. This happened because I tried picking up a rock while camping one night that had been sitting in a fire. My intention was to use this rock inside my sleeping bag to keep me warm. Unfortuantely, it was too hot and melted my glove on the right hand! Doh!

This is probably the first and last post until I hit the trail. I look forward to providing you curious readers with an accurate account of hiking the CDT, describing wildlife, wilderness scenery, over-eating, over-walking, status updates of how my beard is comming along, and ofcourse, descriptive pros of all manner of body flatulance.

Welcome!
