One or Three....Not Two

Greetings, friends. Safety Officer here. After a two and a half year dry spell without hiking long and far, I've made the decision to finally hike the remaining leg of the Triple Crown. Its true as they say, you can only do one or three of the trails, not two. Standing in front of the Mexican border on October 30th, 2013, after having completed the walk there from Canada on the CDT, I knew that it was an inevitability I would find myself on the PCT at some point. I didn't really think it would have been this soon, but alas, here I am, permit and flight to San Diego in hand, ready to head out with my wife Carolyn as my hiking partner on the last leg of this trifecta trail series.

I won't be writing much here. I've since created my own website now, and its easier for me to post my journey there. So, I'll plug a link to it here (www.intothewideopen.com) for any who care to check it out. I may post updates on postholer as well, or at least post updates here to inform of updates there (on the website), to keep things current and fresh, but only time will tell how this will all transpire.

I'm very excited to meet everyone hiking this year and explore this slithering trail called the PCT. Much adventure, excitement, agony, and jubilation await - and I'm beyond excited to start out soon on April 22nd. Happy trails!
